Summary
Effective conservation and sustainable development in Tambopata require an enabling environment across public and private sectors. Since 2024, the Wyss Academy for Nature has partnered with the Provincial Municipality of Tambopata to incorporate conservation and innovation into the Concerted Development Plan 2040. The next step is to develop this plan in coordination with key stakeholders from government, the private sector, academia, and civil society, strategically prioritizing actions that support conservation and sustainable development in the province.
This project also promotes initiatives that integrate forests and cities within sustainable land-use planning. It aims to recognize businesses that foster conservation and apply advanced technologies in their operations. Lastly, a co-designed program will strengthen the management capacities of nature-based enterprises, facilitating their access to innovation funding.
