To address this question, the Wyss Academy for Nature, in collaboration with FabLab Peru, launched Amazonia 5.0: Bridging the Gap to the Fifth Industrial Revolution—an ambitious initiative aimed at assessing and reflecting on the technological potential of local industries in Madre de Dios, Peru.

Through the application of the Industrial Maturity Index (IMI), we evaluated how businesses in key sectors—Amazon nut, agroforestry, tourism, and artisanal small-scale gold mining (ASGM)—are progressing along the path from Industry 1.0 to 5.0. 

Explore where these sectors currently stand and what is required to advance toward a more innovative, sustainable, and interconnected future.
