The challenges of our time, from climate change to biodiversity loss and inequality, call for more than small steps. They demand courageous transformation that allows both people and nature to thrive. In his lecture at the Novartis Campus, Professor Peter Messerli will show how the Wyss Academy for Nature is putting this vision into practice across the globe. 

On October 30, 2025, the Director of the Wyss Academy for Nature at the University of Bern will speak in Basel about how just and equitable transformations can be achieved by bridging science, policy, and practice. Drawing on experiences from the Wyss Academy’s work, he will illustrate how systems thinking, the courage to act, and continuous learning can turn insights into real-world impact..

The lecture will be followed by a conversation with Hansjörg Wyss, whose biography The Art of Impact traces his journey of turning bold ideas into tangible change, and asks what it takes to make transformation possible.
