Marieke van der Zon

Marieke van der Zon is an environmental governance and community development specialist with a passion for forest conservation and local well-being. At the Wyss Academy and the International Potato Center (CIP), her work focuses on monitoring subjective well-being in REDD+ and PES. Trained in public administration and environmental management, she has led research and project work across Latin America, Africa, and Asia with the World Bank, Microjustice4All, and grassroots organizations. Marieke also founded and manages CaféLink, a social enterprise connecting Amazonian coffee farmers to sustainable markets. She is completing a PhD on community forest management in the Peruvian Amazon at Wageningen University, with her thesis defense scheduled for later this year.
