Jürg Staudenmann is an environmental science and human development professional, coordinating the inter- and transdisciplinary research at the Wyss Academy. With 30 years of international experience in applied research and multilateral cooperation, he specialized in climate justice, democratic and transboundary water governance, poverty and inequality alleviation, as well as political advocacy. He held senior positions at the UN Development Programme in Palestine, New York, and Eastern Europe, broadening his skills in diplomacy, program and operational management, evaluation, knowledge management, and strategic communication. Before a Swiss government assignment to SIPRI’s Peace and Environmental Security initiative until 2023, he spearheaded the climate policy portfolio at Alliance Sud.
