Synthesis & Research Integration Lead

Jürg Staudenmann is an environmental science and sustainable human development professional, leading Wyss Academy's synthesis and inter-/transdisciplinary research integration. With 30 years of international experience in applied research and multilateral cooperation, he specialized in climate justice and transboundary water governance, democratic governance, poverty and inequality alleviation, as well as political advocacy and peace & security policy. He held senior positions at the UN Development Programme in Palestine, New York, and Eastern Europe, broadening his skills in diplomacy, program and operational management, impact evaluation, knowledge management, and strategic communication. Before joining the Wyss Academy in 2023 he was representing the Swiss Foreign Department in a SIPRI Peace and Environmental Security initiative, after having spearheaded the climate policy portfolio at Alliance Sud since 2014.
