Elena Borasino is a PhD candidate in the Land Systems and Sustainability Transformation research team, focusing on the governance of multifunctional landscapes in Madre de Dios. She holds a Master of Science in International Development Studies, specializing in Economics of Development, from Wageningen University. She worked as an adjunct researcher at the Group for the Analysis of Development (GRADE) in Lima, Peru, where she contributed to various applied research projects across different regions, primarily in the Peruvian Amazon, focused on natural resource governance and rural development. She has also collaborated with CIFOR-ICRAF, served as Academic Secretary of the Permanent Seminar on Agrarian Research (SEPIA) and lectured at the University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC).
