Dr. Brian Odhiambo Ayugi is a Research Scientist specializing in climate systems, land, and water resources, with over 11 years of experience spanning research, teaching, and project implementation across Africa and beyond. He is widely recognized for conducting high-impact climate change research and is deeply committed to advancing sustainable solutions through innovative methodologies, strategic collaborations, and climate resilience initiatives.

Dr. Ayugi currently works as a Research Scientist at the Wyss Academy for Nature (Hub Kenya), where he leads advanced assessments of climate, hydrological, and ecological changes in the Ewaso Ng’iro North River Basin. His work integrates observational data with co-developed hypotheses to address emerging environmental challenges. He applies advanced techniques such as statistical downscaling, bias correction, and scenario analysis, providing critical insights for sustainable water resource management and biodiversity conservation. 

In recognition of his scientific contributions, Dr. Ayugi was recently nominated as a Lead Author for Chapter 7, Projections for Regional Climate and Extremes, in the Seventh Assessment Cycle of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Working Group I.
